Rocket Club Math!

We have a 3 members to 1 instructor ratio with individual 1:1 time with a dedicated instructor.

Classes are grouped by grade level, however, we want our members to progress at their own pace.

If members prove the ability to be placed in a more advanced class during the 1:1 diagnostic test, or during class, we will move them to a higher grade level.

Yes. We host a 1:1 assessment to figure out where your child’s strengths and weaknesses are and create a plan with milestones to excel.

We test students on all topics in the common core as well as assessing fundamental skills such as logical reasoning, spatial reasoning, and abstract thinking, as they apply to mathematics.

Members join for one 2-hour class once per week on a dedicated day. Parents do not need to schedule classes each week. If a member cannot attend a class, we provide make up options.

Contracts are month to month

No, we don’t charge for the diagnostic exam.

Our instructors are trained math tutors and have gone through a rigorous Rocket Club training program. All of our tutors are hired because of outstanding experience and expertise as educators and they work closely with our curriculum team to prepare for lessons and meet your child’s unique needs. We have found a lot of success with members typically having the same instructor, and strive to keep instructors matched with members.

Each class features a combination of group work, self-guided learning and homework help. Our instructors use games and activities to engage students in active learning while giving them individualized instruction. Our activities engage a variety of different learning styles and creative skills that our students use in mathematics.

Not yet. We are working on a combination class in the future, but for now they are separate programs.

We create a custom plan for each individual member. If a member needs Test Prep, we tailor their curriculum to their needs. Our instructors are trained with many tests, including New York State exams, and are prepared to support your student’s testing needs.

We do not assign homework, but we do assign fun, challenging, optional projects where members can earn additional Rocket Fuel and revisit ideas from class during the week.

Our curriculum aligns with common core, however if your child has been learning a different technique, our instructors are trained to continue teaching with all methods.

Yes, and your child’s Rocket Fuel will translate between the programs.

Parents receive a weekly progress report about what their child is working on in class. Parents can also check progress and milestones on an interactive online resume.
